Joseph A. BeattyJoseph A. Beatty
President & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Beatty was appointed President and CEO of Telular Corporation in January of 2008, after serving a nine month period as CFO, executive vice president and secretary of Telular.  A telecom industry veteran, with over 23 years of experience, Mr. Beatty served as president and CEO of Concourse Communications Group, which was sold to Boingo Wireless in June of 2006.  Prior to his term at Concourse, Mr. Beatty was a founder and CFO of Focal Communications Corporation, a CLEC, now part of Level 3 Communications.

In 1999, Mr. Beatty was recognized as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (Midwest).  He received an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois.  In addition, he is a Chartered Financial Analyst.


Jonathan CharakJonathan Charak
Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

With over 16 years of cross-functional business experience, Mr. Charak provides senior-level financial and administrative leadership. Mr. Charak comes to Telular after serving as Chief Financial Officer of Vanderbilt Financial, LLC., where he provided financial direction to a newly funded and sophisticated specialty investment vehicle with $180 million of capitalization.

Prior to Vanderbilt Financial, Mr. Charak spent over three years at Concourse Communications as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Charak has also held positions at Language Stars LLC, iFufillment Inc, and Arthur Anderson LLP. He received his B.S. in accounting from Indiana University, and has served as a certified public accountant since 1992.


George S. BrodyGeorge S. Brody
Senior Vice President & General Manager, Telguard Segment

Mr. Brody joined Telular with more than 20 years of experience in business-to-business marketing and global commerce. In his role as senior vice president and general manager, he provides strategic expertise in building revenue, brand equity, and customer service.

Prior to Telular, Mr. Brody joined Quiet Water Associates after serving as vice president of marketing for Evolution Networks Inc., a venture-backed, early stage telecommunications company. He also served as vice president of sales and marketing for Philips Electronics N.V. Communications & Security Systems. He was part of the management team that formed BURLE industries, which was acquired by Philips. As vice president of worldwide marketing, he helped establish BURLE as a major player in the global electronic security market. Mr. Brody began his career at RCA and holds a B.S. in Commerce and Finance from Wilkes College and an M.B.A. from Northern Illinois University.


Jerry DeutschJerry Deutsch
Senior Vice President, Manufacturing & Operations

Serving as a senior vice president, and with over 30 years of senior level management in the technology market, Mr. Deutsch oversees all manufacturing, product planning, material control, quality control, sustaining and test engineering.

Before joining Telular, Mr. Deutsch spent over 20 years at LogiMetrics, Inc., where he held the position of executive vice president and chief operating officer, directing a staff of 70 employees with responsibilities including: electrical/mechanical engineering, production and material control, purchasing and accounting. Mr. Deutsch holds a patent on Microband Multiwave Synthesizers. He received his BSEE from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and his MSEE from New York University.


Christopher BearChristopher Bear
Vice President, Product Development

Mr. Bear brings over 22 years of experience to his role as vice president of product development at Telular. Before coming to Telular, Mr. Bear was the engineering lead for MeshNetworks, which was acquired by Motorola in 2004. Here, he led product development activities for the successful wireless technology startup, directing a team of engineers to create products addressing the municipal WiFi and public safety broadband markets.

Prior to Motorola, Mr. Bear founded Clear Focus Consulting. The company’s projects focused on point-of-sale systems and mobile banking services.  Mr. Bear received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada.


Shawn WelshShawn Welsh
Vice President, Marketing & Business Development

Mr. Welsh brings over 14 years of experience in the wireless industry to Telular. As vice president, he oversees the product marketing and business development teams, providing strategic insight and leadership.  Prior to Telular, Mr. Welsh was responsible for business development and product management at Motorola.  He became part of the Motorola team through the $200 million acquisition of MeshNetworks, where he led the Motorola Engagement Team responsible for the deal.

Before his time at MeshNetworks, Mr. Welsh held a number of positions at SkyTel Communications.  Mr. Welsh is a recognized industry leader and often presents at industry events.  He received a B.S. in Computer Science from Mississippi College and an M.B.A. from Rollins College.


Patrick Kuchevar
Vice President, Sales and Services, TankLink

Mr. Kuchevar is the vice president of sales and services for Telular’s TankLink division. He has spent over 15 years in various senior business development and sales positions in the telecommunications sector. Most recently, as vice president of business development for SkyChain, Mr. Kuchevar led efforts to design and implement new wireless technologies for remote monitoring of field assets in various industries. Previously, at Focal Communications, Mr. Kuchevar served as vice president of enterprise services where he was a key contributor in building the company’s revenues to over $300 million through solutions based selling strategies and strategic partner relationships.

Prior to Focal, Mr. Kuchevar spent 10 years with Sprint Communications. Mr. Kuchevar holds a B.A. degree from The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and advanced education through the Executives Programs at University of Chicago School of Finance.
