Overview
Telular Corporation designs, develops, manufactures and markets Fixed Cellular products that enable a standard telephone, fax, computer, security alarm or remote monitoring system to operate wirelessly over the cellular network for either primary or back-up communications. Based on its proprietary RJ-11-to-Cellular interface technologies, Telular provides the capability to connect landline telephone equipment with cellular-type transceivers used in wireless communication networks in the Cellular and PCS frequency bands. The principal product lines, TELGUARD®, Wi-PATH®, and PHONECELL® allow traditional wireline networks to send and receive voice, data, and facsimile signals over wireless networks using standard telephony technology.
Telular has further expanded it's machine-to-machine (M2M) potfolio through the acquisition of SupplyNet in October 2008. SupplyNet, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Telular, provides private label and branded tank monitoring solutions for some of the world's largest petroleum logistics and chemical companies.
Telular’s product lines incorporate the world’s leading cellular standards (GSM, CDMA) and are marketed worldwide. Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Telular has an R&D Center in Atlanta, Georgia and regional sales and technical support offices in Atlanta and Miami.
Telular Corporation was founded in 1986 and went public in 1994. Its stock is traded on the NASDAQ under the symbol “WRLS.”
STRATEGY
The Company’s strategy is to leverage its twenty two years of wireless experience, internationally accepted products and court-tested patents, into a leadership position in the Fixed Cellular Security, Machine-to-Machine, Voice, Fax and High-Speed Data markets. Furthermore, the Company is committed to provding solutions that help organizations improve efficiencies while increasing profits. Cellular operators and their distribution partners are increasingly sharing the Company’s vision that cellular systems in both developed and developing countries are well suited for use as basic wireless service access networks.
Telular believes that future success depends on its ability to continue to meet customers' needs through product innovation, rapid time-to-market for new products, and superior “in market” customer support. Current product lines deploy the major worldwide cellular air interface standards: GSM and CDMA, and include next-generation technologies such as GPRS and 1xRTT, HSDPA and EVDO.
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
Telular’s Research & Development is highly focused on developing competitive products to address both existing and emerging applications.
